Total disappointment based on the acclaim it received.

Not quite as dark as "The Wolf of Wall Street," but about the best that can be said is that it may have been one of the best of the really terribly crop of 2013 movies.

I am not sure what expected out of this movie, but after all the hype, more than this. I too, am old enough to remember this event.

I fell asleep sometime shortly after they decide they need a suite at a big hotel to go after some congressmen. I'm sorry. I just could not make it another minute. I will try to pick it up where I fell asleep and watch the rest of it, as I do want to see the ending.

Is it just me or is Amy Adams really, really BAD? Her character has NO personality or depth. I get that she is supposed to be pretty shallow anyway, but this is not the way to play that. I just could not believe how horrible she was.

I had heard a lot of good hype about this, but it didn't look that appealing to me. I thought it was well acted, good story and loved the dynamics between the different characters. It started kind of slow but once they got it to it, it was fantastic. It felt kind of like Good Fellas a little bit.

has humorous scenes, cinematography is excellent, interesting enough to watch w/o pausing but script is not all that original.

Disc 3 2303 00333 8175 stops playing around scene 10. Disc 3 2303 00334 5733 plays movie in its entirety. Gotta love that American Hustle because isn't that how the game is played?

GREAT CHOICES FOR 70'S BACK GROUND MUSIC. I AM OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER THIS STORY IN THE NEWS. REMINDS US OF THE CORRUPTION WITH CASINOS AND POLITICIANS. A SURPRISING TWIST AT THE END.
BRADLEY COOPER'S CHARACTER (FBI) WAS A NUT CASE .2 1/2 HOURS TOO LONG.

Irving Rosenfeld: ... You can fool yourself for just so long, that your next reinvention you better have your damn feet on the ground ... The art of survival, is a story that never ends ... Irving Rosenfeld: Did you ever have to find a way to survive and you knew your choices were bad, *but* you had to survive?

Paco Hernandez: Yeah, I think the name of this operation is offensive. This whole thing is racist. What, ABSCAM? "Arab-scam"? It's racist! --- Irving Rosenfeld: When you are offered a favor or money, take the favor, not the money. Jesus said that, didn't he? ---- Sydney Prosser: [reluctantly realizing his angle] Everybody at the bottom crosses paths eventually in a pool of desperation and you're waiting for them...---Irving Rosenfeld: How about "we"?
