Add a CommentAnother great read from Rankin. Second in the "Complaints" (Internal Affairs) series with the complex and interesting Malcolm Fox and his team. A complicated and intriguing story which kept me guessing til the end. As usual, Edinburgh and it's surrounds is a character into itself. Highly recommended.
Typical Ian Rankin - a good read.
If I didn't know it was Ian Rankin, I wouldn't have noticed this book. The writing is good, as always. The story was very complex, which is good, but didn't "grab" me. The new hero, Fox, is okay, neither a copy of Rebus, nor a complete departure.
Terrific book. Looking forward to more for this series.
New main character Fox, cop who investigates "bad" cops is interesting. I like him as much as Rebus. maybe because Fox is the flip side of the coin, and might have once investigated Rebus. Although both are the good guys.
I love this new character, Malcolm Fox. Great story and plot. Kept my interest.
Edinburgh without Rebus. The new lead is a special investigations officer, the cop whose job is to investigate other cops - not a route to popularity.
Another excellent crime novel by Ian Rankin. After loving Rebus so much, it took a little to warm up to Malcolm Fox. But because Rankin does such a great job with his characters, I couldn't help loving Fox too.
