Great read - well researched and informative. Oppenheimer doesn't have to get trashy - the Johnsons take care of that for him. Sometimes I wish I was dirty rotten filthy stinking rich and then this book straightens me out. The last chapter on Casey was a heartbreaker.

This interesting page turner about the Robert W. Johnsons of Johnson & Johnson fame is at once incredibly unique and dreadfully sad. It reads like a great biography but tries to capture the views of a wide range of family members.

I give it 4 stars because of two reasons: It is the most popular biography on the Johnsons on the market, and the second reason is thus: The book shows that Jerry Oppenheimer doesn't have to resort solely to a tabloid-like style in order to get his point across a la "House of Hilton"

The constant jumping back and forth between the story lines of various family members gets confusing,

Agreed, But have to it is interesting story though.

More of tell all book than anything else, don't be looking for miracle cures or business advise.

That family what remains of them must be livid, considering they like their privacy, Altough the book paints them as ultra secretive like they are abnormal but if had a $100 Mil in the bank and say I had another 5 or 10 family members each holding anywhere from $50 to $100 Million I'd want a low profile too, hell I don't have any money in the bank and I maintain a low profile; LOL

The constant jumping back and forth between the story lines of various family members gets confusing, especially since many of the men share the same names.

The story itself is of a family ultimately destroyed by excessive wealth and unable to see it or stop it.

Would make for an top notch soap opera but never a 'feel good' movie.

Tragic and sad.

A leader in medical, beauty and baby products Johnson & Johnson made a fortune but unfortunately not without trials and tribulations of their own. Sadly, money did not bring happiness to many in this family.
