I really liked Kat, Incorrigible, and am glad I finally got around to reading this, its sequel, because I might have enjoyed this installment in the series even more. This is a tricky trilogy to recommend to readers, because the reading level is fairly high, but the content is quite tame, meaning its target audience is older kids with strong reading skills who aren't quite ready to make the leap to YA. Anyway, this book has pretty much everything I look for in a story: regency England! magic! humor! sisters! I totally enjoyed it from start to finish.

Love this series. I didn't think it was possible, but I hated Lord Ravenscroft even more than I hated Lady Fotherington in this book!

For some reason the words “regency romp” come to mind, with a precocious 12 year old leading the way. Magic spells and society misunderstandings are the trademark of this series. Highly entertaining to those of us who enjoy Patricia C. Wrede’ s Sorcery and Cecelia series.
