When mild-mannered Reverend Stephen Babbington chokes on his cocktail at a dinner party thrown by Sir Charles Cartwright, it is thought by nearly all thirteen guests, including Belgian detective extraordinaire, Hercule Poirot, to be an accidental death. Shortly afterwards, a second death in suspiciously similar circumstances puts both Poirot and a team of sleuths on the trail of a murderer.

Far too little Poirot; far too much the discreet gentleman Satterthwaite. "Egg" is just too silly a toddler's nickname to live on to adulthood.

Once again Hercule Poirot's grey matter rises above the rest. Lots of possibilities and characters to love and/or despise.

Well worth reading.

Great book with a great ending like all Agatha Christie books

Agatha Christie delivers another intruging mystery. This time, I actually managed to guess the murderer (I guess reading so many Hercule Poirot books is finally paying off), but had no idea why or how, so the ending was still a surprise.
