Yes. It seems that once again Fuzzy_Wuzzy (below) has said everything in his informative comments about this CD, which leaves me to only say that he has really hit it, bang-on.
At the very height of "Flower Power" in the mid-1960s, you can be sure that The Mamas & The Papas (and their distinctive folk-rock sound) were just as prominent on the North American pop music scene as were The Beach Boys (and their cool, California, surfer sound).
Consisting of four talented members, The Mamas & The Papas were headlined by John Phillips who wrote and arranged all of their songs, always focusing on the fusion of strong vocal harmonies mixed with easy-listening melodies.
This "California Dreamin'" CD contains only 10 songs (there should have been more) from The Mamas & The Papas at the absolute height of their popularity, such as - California Dreamin', Monday-Monday, and Words Of Love..... (*Watch music-video*)
*Note* - The only member of this group who is still alive today is Michelle Phillips. (Cass Elliot d. 1974, John Phillips d. 2001, Denny Doherty d. 2007)
I have to admit this is not the best collection from this once-popular group. The audio fidelity was not great, either. I was a little disappointed.
