Vinylmania certainly didn't leave much of a lasting impression on me (except for the impression of making me almost completely indifferent to the whole matter).

Had Vinylmania made an honest effort to cover the entire history of vinyl records, going all the way back to the days of 78 rpm. discs, then, yes, it might held my interest for its 77-minute running time.

But Vinylmania's producer/writer/director, Paola Campana was only concerned in vinyl records from an era when rock n' roll came onto the scene and dominated the market from that day onwards.

I'd say that unless you fit into the totally narrow scope of citizens who belong in the category of being absolute fanatic, vinyl-record collectors, then this somewhat lack;lustre documentary called "Vinylmania" (whose content doesn't live up to its title) probably won't be of any significant interest to you.

But, hey! - Perhaps you, yourself, will find "Vinylmania" to be very informative and of the utmost interest. In fact, I hope you do find this documentary enthralling. 'Cause it will sure help make all of the effort that its director/writer, Paolo Campana put into this project seem more worthwhile.

I had hoped that this would delve into the history of vinyl recordings, but instead it's just a lot of hype about current "personalities" who inhabit the world of vinyl
