The story follows the idea that when you blow on a dandelion puff, you are sending kisses out on the wind. The story goes from one town to another showing examples of what kisses are like in different places and among different cultures. "Kisses go with you wherever, whatever the day brings."

At first I didn't care for the muted colors of the illustrations, but they quickly grew on me. I enjoyed looking for the dandelion puffs on each page. I adored the fact that the illustrator used different colors for skin even among the same families. It is hard to find children's books with multicultural characters. I enjoyed following the pages to new towns across the United States. A map inside the back cover shows which towns were featured in the story.

This is a wonderful cuddle time story. Sit and read this with your little loved ones (boys and girls) and enjoy the closeness it evokes. I recommend this up to ages 6-7.

Fun to read. In a group setting, I had the children blowing kisses several times in the story.

Every day, people express love by blowing kisses. But did you know that kisses look like dandelion fluff? And while some kisses "smell of ginger and cinnamon," some "SMACK! like bubblegum," and some are “velvet as peach fuzz,” all are meant to be caught. In crisp teal illustrations punctuated with splashes of glowing colour, Catching Kisses shows the journeys of kisses as they fly from one person to another throughout the United States. You don't have to recognize the landmarks to be delighted by the gentle sweetness of this story, which (like Audrey Penn's classic The Kissing Hand) reassures children that love stays with them wherever they go.
