I was pleasantly suprised by this. It's a fantasy adventure that doesn't get too bogged down by drawn out emotions or unnecessarily complicated plots. The main character is fun to read and the world is pretty cool as well. I would like to know a little bit more of the side characters and would definitely not complain if we see some romance in the sequels (my vote is for a certain grumpy mustached man).

This is literally one of the best books I have read in a while, and I read a lot of books. I loved everything, except for her friend dying... that was sad.
Everything about this book was creative, ingenuitive, and witty. I especially liked the Shrouded Lord.
Five stars.

Not a bad read but a frustrating protagonist who has the intelligence and attention span of a puppy (not to mention emotional maturity) which makes one wonder how she's survived so far and how she has any friends since she seems to get them killed, not surprisingly. And frankly, if you've had a god sharing your head space AND your life depends on stealth, why wouldn't you just talk back in your thoughts, rather than aloud? The humour is also somewhat puerile. Hope the writing tautens a bit more, and the author desists from the back-and-forward-in-time chapter protocol.

Deeply intriguing and well written. The characters are believable and fun to read about. You feel very involved with the story line and understand the motivations of all the characters.
