Normally, Joanne Fluke is one of my favorite authors, but not this time. If this had been the first book of her's that I had read, I wouldn't have read any of her work. I read about a third of this book and decided it just wasn't the kind of material I wanted to soak in--coarse language, sex.

I can recommend, however, her Hannah Swensen series.

Way too unbelievable. Ms. Fluke has a strange image of Las Vegas and surrounding country.

Did not care for this book. Read a few chapters. Did not hold my interest. I too prefer reading about Hannah S. and family along with Mike and Norman.

I much prefer Fluke's Hannah Swensen mysteries set in Minnesota. "Dead Giveaway" is considered a thriller. It is filled with murders, too many murders, in an isolated luxury condo in the mountains outside Las Vegas, Nevada. Someone starts murdering the residents, one by one and two by two. Conveniently there has been an avalanche that cuts the residents off from the outside world. The story is convoluted and messy. A theme seemed to be -- if someone gets in the way of business, just kill him or her; problem solved. Like I said, way too many murders. No thanks.
