Dad seems to get into more trouble than the children do, but it turns out he is not such a bad dad after all.

Independent Publishing Group
Depicting a positive, engaged relationship between two kids and their fun-loving dad, this endearing story shows how Dad always seems to be in trouble. The library books are overdue, the kids are late for school, and the last cookie is missing from the cookie jar. Dad is always in the middle of it all, but is he really that bad? He also helps with homework, tells lots of jokes, and banishes Brussels sprouts from the house forever. Kids and their dads alike will both love how the things that make Dad bad are suddenly revealed to show that Dad is actually pretty cool.

I could not resist getting a book called Bad Dad with such a gorgeous illustration on the front! The first half of this book talks about the things Dad does that get him labeled as bad such as jumping on the bed, throwing the ball in the house, and staying up too late playing video games. But the best part is when the second half of the book talks about all of the cool things dad does that are good such as playing games with the kids, helping with homework and participating in Crazy Hair Day.

I don't like labeling Dad as bad, but I can see a little kid reciting "Bad Dad" when he does something naughty. And I know plenty of dads who are like this. They have good motives, but their exuberant personality causes them to muck things up quite often. But in the end, "Is he really all that bad?" Nope. He loves his kids and does his best. Kuddos to the author for pointing this out.

The illustrations are gorgeous with rich color and a huge cuteness factor.

This would be a fun dad/child read together book.
