One of Hoag's better ones. make sure you read them in order.

excellent study of the limitations of homicide detectives. they have inadequate resources and terrible personal lives, which serve to interfere with their job performance.
also a story of current interest- the bullying of someone different by her peers. woven into this is how selfish and abusive modern parents are, how easy it is for a serial killer to operate successfully in a society obsessed with superficial pursuits while really important concerns go begging. how sad it is to be a teen surrounded by all this cruelty, mayhem and madness. no wonder teens end their short lived and unbearable lives. tami hoag is an excellent fiction writer who shows us how complicated everyday life is and how we fail so miserably at it. tami hoag holds up a mirror in front of us all.

As an avid reader of Hoag and past writing's, this was a very tough book to read and now comments due to:
although she touches upon current social issues, and concerns teens face such as bullying, gay rights, belonging, social media, pedio- phlia, divorced parents; the storyline teeters on being for teens, and teen interactions with dialogue ala Nancy Drew, while trying to sustain the adult tale of psychotic crimes and killers.

Great book! Tami explored the personal lives of her characters and we got insight that wasn't previously seen. The story was compelling and the book was hard to put down. I would definitely recommend it!

I thought the beginning of this book was very repetiitive and slightly boring. The ending however got really good.
Just an OK book in my opinion!!

Hair raising. Cogent. Inciteful. Should be required reading for all parents of teenagers. Typical Tami Hoag. I loved it if one can love such a terrible story.
