While the cover pretty much plays off those tedious Ice Age animated films (I really, really, really dislike Ray Romano, and even his whining voice is obnoxious), that's a minor point. This is a documentary that looks at the wealth of animal life during the ice ages, particularly in how big they could get. The filming and the CGI effects blended into the background work very well indeed, and there is plenty of commentary from experts, as well as footage of fossil and frozen specimens kept in lab facilities today. Fascinating for anyone with an interest in the subject. Just ignore the cheesy cover.
