London dances to the tune of Gorsky's billions. The most enigmatic of oligarchs, Gorsky has been led to the city by his love for Natalia, whom he first knew in Russia. That she is now married to an Englishman is an inconvenient detail. Gorsky desires and gets the best of everything.

I did read this novel to the end, but I do not know why. It was very light and unsurprising.

As noted by the author, this book could easily be called, The Great Gorsky. With more than a passing nod to F. Scott Fitzgerald, the retiring bookseller,Nicholas, peeps into the exotic world of the London uber-rich. The wealthy Russian book collectors who frequent the shop only appear to be self-contained, calm and collected. Each one has their own sub-plot and we watch along with Nicholas as theses stories unfold.
