***SPOILERS***
Bilbo Baggins and company enter the Battle of the Five Armies and go on to defeat the remaining enemies who were the orcs from the leader Azog and orcs and goblins from the leader Bolg. The other three armies who united together to destroy their enemies were men from Lake Town under their leader Bard, elves from Mirkwood from their leader Thranduil, and finally dwarves from Iron Hills under their leader Dain. It was a battle like none other before and there were many deaths. In the middle of the battle, the two evil armies were destroying the other three good armies when all of a sudden, the eagles came to their rescue and turned the tide in their favour

Bloated mess with characters that are forgotten and have so little screen time or so over the top with tons of screen time while being annoying.

The Hobbit trilogy is a movie that is confused about what type of movie that it wants to be. Is it a comedy? Adventure? Or an epic like Lord of the Rings. Sadly it has a bunch of these elements crammed together in a nonsensical mess.

Not true to the book which would have made this 1 or 2 movies not 3.

This is called The Battle of the Five Armies for a very, very good reason. The first 12 minutes have a LOT of storyline packed in, and then the battle just seems to go on and on. Still, it's a pretty cool conclusion to the trilogy. I HATE when awesome books or movies end!!! :( Legolas is well portrayed, not to mention he's also very nice. The poor guy! He ends up going and trying to save the dwarf who has fallen in love with the elf HE likes. (That love story! It is SO ridiculous! She's a foot and a half taller than him, for starters.) I wish there would have been a little less fighting, but it was a fairly good end to a worthwhile addition to Middle-Earth. Still trying to figure out if Thorin or Thranduil are equally bad, or if one is more annoying... Anyway, that's my opinionated view on a movie I still can't help but like - and kind of hate, it's so sad.

Did not follow the book - unfortunately. Seems like it tried to include a Hollywood version with a silly love story and a big battle. Entertaining but lacks the magic of the LOTR.

I have seen it at least four times the things I find something unusually little bits of legolas's past I would like to see more of the people and elfs fighting and seeing more dwarfs just more dwarfs.!!!!!!!

Had to watch it twice in 2 days to make sure I didn't miss anything. Same disappointing result.

I just have so many questions. I get the desire to make the movies and am really glad they did because they are visually stunning. But the story was so disjointed it literally hurt my brain. Not a book reader but I'm going to read it now just to see how different things are and if there are any answers to my questions.
I actually thought the battle resolution was a joke. SPOILER/not really but lets be honest, if the Hobbit was written first, then LOTR only having eagles once must be Tolkien showing some restraint.

A fittingly drawn out and bloated end to a drawn out and bloated trilogy.

The CGI continues the trilogy's tradition of being somewhat cartoon-y...and far below the level one would expect of a movie with as large a budget as this one had.

Far fewer cutesy, wink-wink, nudge-nudge references to Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy than the first two movies, which was a relief.

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! READ AT YOUR PERIL!

(Still reading? Well, I warned you.)

Tauriel: [speaking to Thranduil, while crying over Kili's body] They want to bury him.
Thranduil: Yes.
Tauriel: If this is love, I do not want it. Take it from me, please. Why does it hurt so much?
Thranduil: Because it was real.
Tauriel: [cradles Kili's hand in hers and leans down to kiss him]

(Bard) Will you have peace, or war?
(Thorin) I will have war.

"I know that dwarves can be obstinate and pigheaded and difficult. And suspicious and secretive, with the worst manners you can possibly imagine. But they are also brave and kind, and loyal to a fault. I've grown very fond of them, and I would save them if I can." -Bilbo Baggins :)

Bilbo: One day I'll remember. Remember everything that happened: the good, the bad, those who survived... and those that did not.

Gandalf: You are a very fine fellow, Mr Baggins, and I am very fond of you. But you are really just a little fellow, in a wide world.

Thorin: ... But the treasure in this mountain does not belong to the people of Laketown (spoke like dragon Smaug) ... This gold is ours. And ours alone. On my life, I will not part with a single coin. Not one piece of it.

Violence: Quite a bit here. Orcs, elves, dwarves, men, every side loses quite a few here. Tauriel gets thrown around, we see several characters die.

Violence: Lots of it. Brutal killing. Brutal fighting. Not good for little kids. It's rated PG-13 for a reason.
