The strikes that destroyed Mike and Lisa's household - the work of Sheik Al-Assad - are bringing the Western economy to its knees. And they are only the beginning. If the Sheik succeeds, the world will change forever, and the next attack is just around the corner. Fast moving book about married counterintelligence experts who, when their family is ripped apart, are tapped by a group which operates outside of the view of ordinary spy agencies in order to stop a series of terrorist attacks. Without the book saying as much, the couple effectively become soldiers of fortune as they use their wits to stem the carnage. The writer, a former intelligence officer himself, uses his knowledge of the often clandestine world of spycraft to write a book that is hard to put down. The author does say in the notes he was forced to redact a section that would have revealed some of the spy industry's closely kept secrets on bringing in their prey - which is unfortunate.
