I found this book very interesting. Who would expect to be rooming with a killer in a college dorm. I enjoyed that Robert and Lucien debated and imparted their understanding of thinking of a physopath. Best book I have read in a while, the twist and turn made the the plot intertesting. I have read another book by this author and enjoyed it as well. I will be adding Chris Carter to my favorites list. A great read!!

Like many of the readers who commented, I did enjoy this book. It was well written, but unfortunately not as well researched--at least when it comes to handguns.
I was stopped in my tracks when I read on page 172, character "thumbed the safety off" on her Glock 22. This is an impossibility, since Glocks do NOT have external safeties.
A small error that could have been avoided, by doing a simple Google search.

My first Chris Carter read, 'The Executioner'...his being a criminal psychologist definitely shows. Just finished 'An Evil Mind'...truly frightening, such a master of details in the writing that keeps the reader turning the pages. I have requested that the library please bring in his debut novel, 'The Crucifix Killer'. My new favourite author.

Very visceral descriptions so if you're easily shocked, this is not the book for you. Good plot, lots of twists, definitely a good read

Where has Chris Carter been hiding?! I cant believe I've never read his work before. This is the rapid page turning psychological suspense I love to read. There were no slow parts. This my be my first Chris Carter read but it won't be my last.
