Well, I will have to read more of Tim Dorsey's oddly titled novels before confirmation but, judging from "Coconut Cowboy", he must be nuts.

And, I can't wait to send a copy to my brother in Florida!

This is so not a Stuart Woods (Stone Barrington) novel, with its straight forward plot and simple sentences.

I am thoroughly enjoying the mind pictures I get from the narrative in Coconut Cowboy.

This is not a particularly easy story to read - comical characters doing oddball stuff interwoven with dark actions by shady characters - or, wait...oddball characters doing shady stuff or?????

My first book by Dorsey and I must admit that I had more laugh out loud moments than I've had in a very long time. I don't know of another writer like Dorsey, but, I had flashes of Lewis Grizzard and Hunter Thompson.

"Florida....the nation's pace car of dysfunction."
And driving that car is the inimitable Serge Storms with space cadet Coleman as co-pilot. As they crisscross the state's backroads as an homage to "Easy Rider", they encounter crooked politicians, drug dealers, annoying businessmen & sinkholes.
Don't know how this guy does it but even at book #19, it's fresh, smart & laugh out loud funny as pandemonium ensues. Serge's address to the crowd at an outdoor music festival alone makes this worth your while.
