Those bullies were just awful! How they treated poor Shir!! Like she could help what she looked like. Those billies were WAY UGLIER than Shir!!
And her mother!! She was just mean!!!! I hate reading books when the mother hates and abuses her child because they look like the father of the child and the baby daddy hurt the mother in some way!!

It was surprising to me at the end, when the author revealed that she was abused and bullied at school, and how she overcame it, to become the strong woman she is.
I wish APL had more of this author's books. It was disappointing to me to find only 4, and Born Ugly was one of them
