My little 3 yr old loves these books, definitely worth reading
A traditional story with a unique twist. Older audience might appreciate the rhyme and enjoy the story. (Division one.)
SUMMARY: This is a medieval take on the traditional There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. In this version, the dragon begins by swallowing a knight. We don't know why he swallowed the knight--it's not polite! The dragon then goes on to swallow a succession of items until he is so bloated, he must burp it all out again--except the knight who is just right for a dragon meal.
ILLUSTRATIONS: The pictures are fun and full of detail and color. Kids will get a kick out of the dragon spewing everything back up at the end.
REVIEW: This was a fun take on the old version--complete with a knight, a squire, a trusty steed and a damsel in distress. Kids will like the humor throughout the story. The rhyming is great too. It gets a little shaky right at the end, but I loved the creativity. I especially loved the steed who drove the dragon crazy with his clippity clippity clippity clop!
AGE RECOMMENDATION: Advertised for ages 3-7, but I think it is better for ages 4-8.
