"The Essential Calvin & Hobbes" was originally published back in 1988. This entertaining book contains numerous cartoons from the ever-popular "Calvin and Hobbes" comic strip.

For anyone who's not at all familiar with the "Calvin and Hobbes" cartoon - Here's a brief outline of what one can expect to see in this volume.... This cartoon follows the often-humorous adventures (both real and fantasized) of Calvin, a precocious, mischievous and very outspoken 6-year-old rugrat, and his sardonic, stuffed tiger, Hobbes.

Together these 2 rascals (especially Calvin) get themselves into all sorts of comical predicaments that cover such broad issues as public education, philosophical quandaries, environmentalism, and flaws of opinion polls (to name but a few).

At the height of its popularity - "Calvin and Hobbes" was featured in over 2400 newspapers, worldwide.

The Essential-Calvin and Hobes is so funny. My favourite parts of the book are when Calvin gets ready for picture day at school and when Calvin mom singes up Calvin for swimming lessons. It's always funny when Calvin imagines his teacher as an alien monster. My favourite character is Hobes because he is a tiger and he does not have to do all the things that Calvin has to do like go to school and take a bath.

So this book is about a boy Named Calvin and his tiger friend Hobbes were best buds they kept a very big secret is that Hobbes turns into a stuffed animal when he sees Calvins parents because he does not want to freak out when his parents see that a tiger is in the house, and Calvin is a very unfocused person when he is at school he thinks he is a spaceman And he is fighting aliens and loses attention to class and he gets very low marks on his report no surprise

“Oh look, yet another Christmas TV special! How touching to have the meaning of Christmas brought to us by cola, fast food, and beer.... Who'd have ever guessed that product consumption, popular entertainment, and spirituality would mix so harmoniously? ”
