Very touching story about a spoiled little rich girl & her grandpa on an adventurous journey to grandpa’s home town. A lot of nice scenery along the way. At the beginning the little girl doesn’t seem to like grandpa much & is kinda mean. Most kids seem to like the grandparents more than the actual parents. Also the director (French) seemed to feel the need to wrap it up with a tidy happy ending for everyone, not typical for most Chinese movies. Wife liked this one. We watched it in Mandarin with English subtitles.

This is a very sweet and wonderful family drama that is suitable for all families. The story includes three generations. Grandpa at the request of his late wife had to make a trip back to his home town to free his bird that had accompanied him for over 13 years. He had to bring with him his grand-daughter, a young spoiled city girl whose parents were out of town.
The story also showed the father and son inspiration in the Chinese culture and relationship.
This is an entertaining movie that worth watching. It is with English subtitle.

Extraordinary filming of all the beauty of the country side of China. I fell in love with the boldness of each of the family members; especially the grandfather. This film had me thinking of family ties and how important they are in the development of each person on this planet. Loved this film!!
