Add a CommentA word of caution. It looked cute, but the story includes some terrible bullying by students at the girl's school. The human girl is tricked into going skinning dipping and her "friends" (including at least 1 boy) steal her clothes and take pictures of her naked. They print them and hang them all over the school grounds. We didn't make it through the whole book.
A really sweet book by adult author, Jennifer Weiner. This is her first children's title. Alice, desperate to make a friend, finds herself at an experimental school where kids seem to be just the same--mean-spirited and prone to bullying. One night, she meets a little bigfoot named Milli, who is also searching for a friend and is desperate to find out more about the 'no furs.' Very cute and I think its the beginning of a series.
