"The Conjuring" ends with a confiscated demonic conduit mysteriously activating by itself in the Warren's home, implying that the Perron family's story is not over, and yet "The Conjuring 2" does not include them, only the Warrens return in this sequel. It feels like an entirely new movie rather than a continuation of the first. The beginning jumps around quite a lot, while not hard to follow, it does waste a bit of time that maybe could've been utilized better. Ultimately, despite a rocky start, this movie is better than the first, it's clear director James Wan learned the weak points from the first and made sure to not repeat any errors. He continues with his excellently crafted scenes full of tension and awesome scary payoffs, and includes some heart-felt moments between the Warrens and the Hodgson family that, much like the previous movie, make the audience hope for the best outcome of this family. The evil within this home is like "nun" ever seen before by Ed or Lorraine, and the Warrens fear for themselves, but are conflicted as they truly began to care for this English family. Overall, "The Conjuring 2" is a film with a rough start, but is full of heart racing moments and a jaw dropping and heart warming story, and raises the bar of the modern horror genre.

I thought this was a good horror movie, The girl who played Janet was really good, actually all characters were played really well. The make up was good. The scenery was nice. The plot was overdramatized here and there but it could be overlooked.

I give this movie a 4 out of five. This is another great movie in the Conjuring series but the first Conjuring can never be beaten. Aside from that, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga show to us again what great actors they are. The acting in this movie is the best and deserves a round of applause, from Janet's iconic scene where she is possessed by the man in the chair. They added new demons that I am in love with, but still, no one can beat the iconic Nun. The Crooked man has to be my favorite demon, even though he has such a small scene and you barely see him. I love every minute of the scene although I felt that it was too stretched out and maybe should have been even smaller. This movie plays with my fear of flexible people, I just get so freaked out by just the way their bodies move. The soundtrack is still amazing and can never be forgotten in my reviews. The setting is amazing as well, the creepiness of the whole house and why anyone would even want to walk into that house still surprises me to this day. As with all Conjuring movies it surprises me how these people lived through all of these experiences. This movie franchise will always know how to keep me up at night whether if it's with a new demon or a new setting. I am in love with these movies and hope that you enjoy them as well.

I really love this movie especially the actors Patrick Wilson as (Ed) and Vera Farmiga as (Lorraine) And I don't know why some people here in the comments don't like this movie when its really good and inspiring so like what the heck? Also i kinda freaked out because their were so jumps cares! So I don't get why some people in the comments would think this movie sucks when its so great and spooky!

I’m looking for a movie that really scares me, but haven’t had much luck. Teenagers that open the closet, go down the dark, dank basement stair with a flashlight that doesn’t work anymore. I kind of liked this one because it’s based on a true story and they showed the actors next to the people, and “real” scenes next to movie scenes. That’s creepy.

This was a decent Horror movie- not the greatest I've ever seen but not the worst- it's a good, little horror.

I wanted so badly to like this movie, partly because the original Conjuring is one of my favorite modern horror movies. But I just couldn't enjoy The Conjuring 2. One of the two protagonists is constantly out of character, the CGI they used for the Crooked Man is AWFUL and makes him look like he just walked out of a Gamecube (which is odd considering the other monsters look so good), and the main villain, for all the hype its given, is defeated way too easily. There are positives: the story focuses on the relationship between the two protagonists and continues their arc from the first movie, and the Nun looks cool even though it's not that scary. But overall, The Conjuring 2 is just a disappointment.
