Add a CommentAnother excellent compilation of hilarious and touching short stories. Features the greatest of them all: "Dave Cooks the Turkey," but there were some surprise favourites, including "Emil" and "Summer Camp."
This is the first book of Vinyl Cafe stories I have read. They didn't make me laugh as much as they do when I hear Stuart McLean read them aloud on the radio. I realized this when he read the story "Piano Lessons" on the radio about a week after I had read it in the book. I found the stories get funnier as the book goes on. All in all a good read that will make you feel good. McLean knows how to touch a Canadian's soft spots.
