Have a sense that most readers didn't give this novel more than a passing glance - if that.

This book is described as "the first comprehensive investigation" -

"complete; including all or nearly all elements or aspects of something. "a comprehensive list of sources"

And continues to fail this test throughout the narrative

In an early instance, Mr. Unger describes how: "Trump Tower offered a special feature that was exceedingly rare. At the time according to David Cay Johnson, Trump Tower was only one of two buildings in New York City that sold condos to buyers who used shell companies. (p.12) And yet the following NYT articles suggests such deals are widespread and every day occurrences.

Mr. Unger is a Harvard graduate however, the material I've tracked does not provide specifics.

The Mueller Russia Collusion matter was investigated for more than two years, during which time this supposed in depth study was published - one would have thought this book would have been presented, front and centre, in support of the various and sundry charges - it obviously wasn't, for good reason!

Of course Trump is corrupt. How does he get away with it? Or is that time over? We can but hope.

This book is nothing new about what is happening on the planet Earth. Just go back to the seventeenth century and the royal court of the emperor Rudolf II. in Prague. You would find very similar society and the same stories of people who are trying to cheat and steal.

Very interesting. No surprises for anyone who reads books that investigative of politics and big business. Corruption is said to go all the way to the top, but it does indeed get accepted and nurtured there as well. Many of the back door, seemingly anonymous "deals/alignments" are quite reminiscent of those in pre WW1 Europe.

Really enjoyed this book. It argues that much of Trump's success in real-estate comes from the Russian mafia laundering money through Trump property investment. This in itself sounds terrible but the worst of it is that investment came from a criminal enterprise acting on behalf of the Putin regime and the FSB in an effort to develop Trump as a political ally (useful idiot). The idea that the modern Russian state is built on organized crime would be fascinating if it weren't so terrifying. The chapter about the tactics the FSB employ to influence politics abroad was particularly interesting.

Very involved. Finish at another time.... perhaps.

We know for a fact now that Deutsche Bank laundered Russian money for Fat Donnie. Hope he rots in prison for undermining the United States and that his "uneducated" base wakes up to reality sooner rather than later to the fact that they believed anti-Hillary Russian propaganda.

Check out how Russia supported Dumpy and helped spread propaganda to Dumpy's supporters.

Please congress; hurry up with the impeachment so we can put this guy in prison where he belongs.
