I liked this book! I thought that it was very interesting! My only issue with it was that the author failed to mention any use of best practices beyond failing to sleep-train her own child until six months. She makes it sound like all advice books are just nonsense. There are books that have been written by pediatricians and field experts which are based on research and best parenting practices! These books, like Baby 411, will explain to mothers when to expect peak belly-rubin counts (so put your kid in a warm windowsill), that over-stimulation peaks at 5 weeks or that your baby's nervous system is finally developed enough for sleep training at 4 months. They explain what pediatricians have known for over twenty surfaces, safe sleeping practices, even how to identify safe baby furniture (in Baby Bargains the sister book). If mother's think that all of it is nonsense, they might not heed the important advice that could save their babies' lives.

Informative, and entertaining too. Novice parents will find it a good corrective to all-knowing advice manuals, and it includes enough sources to impress more serious nonfiction readers.
