A team of professional detectives have failed to solve a mystery, and have turned to Nancy for her expert help. Nancy must find a message hidden in a hollow oak tree centuries ago. The case takes Nancy and her friends to Illinois, where they live with archaeologists. During Nancy's adventure, they realize that they are being shadowed by a suspicious character. Will Nancy be able to shake her pursuer off and find the hidden message? This mystery was one of the most intriguing yet, as it contained a lot of suspense and adventure. The mystery was also complicated, making the story much more interesting and engaging. Overall, The Message in the Hollow Oak was an adventurous and intriguing story, making it a great read.

Loved Nancy Drew as a kid and wanted to reread them. This title was my favourite, and having reread it, it remains one of her best.

ummm kind of retro.. they are digging up native American skeletons for museums.. desecrating graves! :(
