The attention of the Board this year has been directed towards the drafting of a new model parole statute with the tabling of the Canadian Sentencing Commission's report Sentencing Reform: A Canadian Approach which recommends abolition of full parole in its present program format. Policy development issues include a discussion of the passage of Bills C-67 and C-68 pertaining to amendments of the federal Parole Act and Penitentiaries Act. Includes information on Board reviews, member workload, board decisions, parole supervision, suspension and revocations, transfers, and the replication study on decision making with an analysis of the day parole program and an evaluation of termination reports.
