Trap sampling occurred in 36 sets among a group of islets at the mouth of the Sound and along the southern shores of Gambier Island using 4 types of traps baited with canned sardines. Beach sampling was conducted at 6 sites during low tides. Three SCUBA dives were completed in the southeast Popham Island area to observe microhabitat utilization by young prawn and their behaviour. Captured prawn were counted, sexed, and their carapace length measured and retained.
