Evaluation of SCAT 02 Vehicles at Expo 86Microform - 1987
Evaluation of 3 prototype electric vehicles used during Expo 86 to transport elderly and disabled visitors between the Skytrain transit station and the Canada Pavilion. SCAT (small carrier for alternative transfer) consists of a platform set on a low wheelbase, powered by 3 12V batteries, and equipped with foldable seats, a wheelchair boarding ramp and tie-down system and a canopy for protection against the elements. The SCAT vehicles were operated during 2 6-hour periods, 7 days/week, for a total of 140 days during the fair. The evaluation was based on data collected from drivers' logsheets, inverviews with drivers and passengers, and videotapes of the vehicles in operation.
