The Forest Land Commission adjudicates applications for changes in the use of private managed forest land in British Columbia's Forest Land Reserve, and it advises the provincial government on the status of Crown forest land. This strategic plan is intended to provide a guiding framework for the Commission to assist in identifying future directions and in establishing priorities for its program. The plan document includes a mission statement; a list of operating principles; an outline of challenges and opportunities facing the Commission such as urban growth, rural settlement, private landowner concerns, new First Nations governments, and public policy; and strategic directions that address those challenges and opportunities.
