Coastal Grizzly Research Project
Progress Report, Year 1, 1982Microform - 1985
As a result of increasing concern by wildlife managers of the effects of timber harvesting on grizzlies in coastal forests, a problem analysis was conducted to identify and rank research requirements. A research project was undertaken to identify seasonal habitat requirements of coastal grizzlies, to determine the impacts of timber harvest on coastal grizzly bears in the absence of hunting, and to determine baseline population characteristics. This report gives a description of the study area and summarizes the accomplishments of the 1982 field season.
