Planning is based on 15 habitat management areas within the Fraser River watershed. This report examines seven streams within the West Road Habitat Management Area, with the goal of expressing the habitat sensitivity of the salmon streams through various indices calculated from the hydrologic, water use, and land use data collected for the streams. The report reviews the physiography and climate of the Area, describes the flow characteristics of the salmon streams, assesses the impacts of forest harvesting and agriculture on the streams, calculates water demand from water license data, and determines the stream sensitivity indices. The report concludes with technical and management recommendations, including development of water management plans for the streams that are most affected by human activity.
