Lumber Drying Kiln Workbook
Airflow and Heat Distribution Evaluation -- 3d EdMicroform - 1996
This workbook describes how to take and analyze airflow and temperature measurements in lumber drying kilns. The results of airflow and heat distribution evaluations determined using the procedures presented, when combined with results of self-grading, will indicate where improvements can be made in order to increase overall lumber drying quality while making the kiln more energy-efficient and possibly reducing drying times. Specific topics covered include equipment required, airflow and temperature calculations, and airflow distribution analysis. The appendix contains a copy of the softwood lumber guidebook and checklist produced under the IMPROVE Lumber Drying Program.
