Survey investigators collected lake sediments and waters from 413 sites in the study area and analyzed for 15 elements by atomic absorption spectroscopy and for a further 25 elements by instrumental neutron activation analysis. This report describes the survey areas (location, access, physiography, surficial and bedrock geology, mineral deposits), survey methodology, and quality control procedures, and presents a preliminary interpretation of the data obtained, notably for gold. New areas for prospective porphyry-style gold/copper and molybdenum deposits are outlined, and recommendations are provided for gold exploration in the study area. Appendices contain analytical data.
