The proposed mine would produce 60 million pounds of copper per year over a 17-year life. This report presents the review of this mine development conducted by a project committee which reviews projects as specified in the Environmental Assessment Act. The committee consisted of representatives of federal and provincial agencies and of municipalities and First Nations affected by the proposed mine. The report considers the baseline conditions existing at the mine site, the cumulative environmental effects of the mine, and management of issues at the mine site. It identifies the environmental commitments made by, or agreed to by, Huckleberry Mines with respect to project design and operation, should a project approval be granted, and outlines information related to various permits, licenses, and approvals that will be required if the project is certified and project development proceeds.
