The Ministry of Employment & Investment is the lead provincial agency for creating and protecting jobs in British Columbia. It develops trade opportunities, fosters private sector investment, facilitates and co-ordinates strategic public-sector capital investments, works with the public sector in its economic development responsibilities, and encourages revitalization of traditional industries. This report reviews the Ministry's activities over the year in the areas of its mandate, reviews the Ministry's organizational structure and general responsibilities, and reviews accomplishments in various Ministry divisions (corporate relations, finance & administration, human resources, information management, community development, communications). A list of legislation administered by the Ministry and an expenditure summary are also included.
