Add a CommentEvery year at Hardy Elementary School, the 5th graders go on a week-long field trip in the woods. Mark Chelmsley IV is going on the field trip this year, and he just wants it to end so he can go to whatever exclusive prep school his parents are going to send him to. But then he realizes that the Week is an opportunity to prove to Mr. Maxwell that he isn’t just a snotty rich kid.
When Mark and Mr. Maxwell get stuck in the woods, they must work together to survive and find their way back. This was a book about survival, empowerment, and an unexpected friendship.
great book
I really like survival stories, so this may just be me, but Andrew Clements is also a great author.
Good book!!
Not his best work, but still entertaining and thought provoking. A great read for relunctant middle school aged readers (especially boys)
