“Soul” was not what I was expecting, there was so much depth to this animated movie! I would say it is most suited to an audience of ages 10 and up because there are many elements to the movie that younger children would not understand. Soul is about this man, Joe, whose lifelong dream is to be a professional Jazz musician. Unfortunately, life (or death!) has other plans. Let’s just say there are many twists and turns in his journey to get there. It is kind of crazy how philosophical this movie is and how many life lessons one can take away from it, such as, enjoy the simple things in life and life really is what you make it! Seriously deep stuff for an animated movie. On an interesting side note, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, both members of Nine Inch Nails, composed soundtracks for “Soul”. I highly recommend watching this movie, the messages it delivers are important especially these days! - A.G.

The first couple of minutes were great. I immediately liked the characters and was looking forward to the story. Then it changed completely. I suppose it plays better to children. I was disappointed.

This film is in the Children's section? It is great on so many levels. One of the few animated films which I have watched and experienced a sense of profoundness. And much more. Fun, beautiful, i did not look away from the screen once.
Don't let the library category throw you off.

Good movie, may cause existential dread.

A great movie. I'd agree with most of the other reviewers in that it's probably not a movie for young kinds. Additionally, there is some detail in the animation lost due to the DVD format, but there was never a dull moment and every character in the movie had unique qualities to them.

This is a wonderful movie, I loved it. Would not recommend it for young kids.
