The Council is an independent advisory organization dealing with issues related specifically to the sustainable use of Pacific salmon stocks. It imparts information & recommendations regarding stock conservation & enhancement, as well as habitat restoration, protection, and improvement. The Council puts forward strategic advice from a long-term perspective to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the British Columbia Minister of Fisheries, and the general public. This annual report puts forward current findings related to stock status & habitat conditions and presents a summary of the Council's viewpoints on significant and immediate matters of concern. It covers activities from January 1 to December 31 (previous annual reports were on a fiscal year basis). The appendices include a council profile, a list of members and staff, and a list of council publications.
