Managing the health of fish at an aquaculture facility requires a program to determine health status and a system of recording mortality & disease. This document describes what fish health requirements must be included in a fish health management plan. Introductory sections list the goals of such a plan and provide definitions of terms. The main section sets out plan requirements related to the following: characterizing the health status of fish at a culture facility; identifying & managing risks to fish health; reducing exposure to, or spread of, disease causing agents; and the use of drugs & chemicals in fish health management.
