Donna Creek Winter Furbearer SurveysMicroform - 1998
The Donna Creek Forestry/Biodiversity Project was initiated to develop & test alternate forest harvesting practices designed to maintain potential critical habitat elements. As part of this project, conducted in a study area south-west of Williston Reservoir in British Columbia, surveys of winter tracks of furbearers & other small mammals were carried out to obtain data on relative abundance of animals by habitat type. This report documents findings & recommendations arising from the 1993-94 winter furbearer surveys and documents the methods & results of the more detailed 1995-96 winter furbearer transect & trailing surveys. The findings are compared among different parts of the study area: old-growth control areas, clear-cut control blocks, and silvicultural treatment blocks.
