Biological and Oceanographic Data From the Harmful Algae Monitoring Program Associated With Salmon Farm Sites on the West Coast of Canada in 2001Microform - 2004
The Harmful Algae Monitoring Program began in summer 1999 with participation by three salmon farming companies on the British Columbia coast. This report presents tabular & graphic data from the third year (2001) of the Program. Sampling was performed weekly at 27 farm sites around Vancouver Island to provide data on phytoplankton species, including those harmful or potentially harmful to finfish; phytoplankton biomass & dominant groups; nutrient levels (nitrate, phosphate, ammonium, & silicate); and environmental parameters such as temperature, salinity, & dissolved oxygen.
