good psychological thriller. unusual twist. first time I've read one of hers. I shall read more.

At least one British reviewer described this book as being “captivating”, but that was definitely not the case for me; it's not really a mystery story and it's certainly not a police procedural (since there are no police in it); it's not really a thriller either; actually, it's more of a regular-style novel about the effects of betrayal on the betrayed; much more importantly, some of the story elements don’t ring true and the story has some holes in its believability; like, why are the police not involved in at least some of this?
