If you have any interest in Spaghetti Westerns then Christopher Frayling is the the author to read- he's the most informative and perceptive critic that I've read on the subject.

This book on Spaghetti Westerns is a critical look at the works and their impact on film and society. Like many (or all?) critical looks at art the book seem verbose. This is not a coffee table type book and would probably only be of interest of those who love the genre or students of film.
