The workshop opened with plenary sessions to establish the workshop purpose, set the stage for discussions, and reach common understanding of a framework for more detailed discussions. This was followed with discussions by three sub-groups of participants that considered how adaptive management could be used to increase knowledge regarding the success of the following restoration activities: sediment management activities & sediment supply/transport; hydrology/water management activities and the hydrologic regime; and vegetation management activities, vegetation growth, and large woody debris supply & transport. At the end of the workshop, the subgroups returned to plenary for final integration and review of lessons learned.
