VERY GOOD 1941 Fred Astaire and Rita Hayworth collaboration. Several great songs and great large scale choreography by Robert Alton.
I just learned that the 1941 pre-WWII military conscription was the first US peacetime draft - just in time!
And also learned Rita' s (born Margarita Carmen Cansino) show biz career goes back to when she part of her family's Dancing Cansinos group. Her parents were both dancers; her father was Spanish, her mother was Irish-English.
Rita is fabulously beautiful and such a great leggy dancer.
It was also fun for me to get introduced to Osa Massen appearing as Sonya.
Fred does some fabulous tap - especially behind/after the black group Four Tones doing Cole Porter's 'Since I Kissed My Baby Goodbye'.
Some people find 'double talker' Cliff Nazarro annoying, but I enjoyed the whack humor he provides as Swivel along with Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams.
