To celebrate her 50th birthday, Jane joins fourteen other women to hike the Camino de Campostela, a centuries-old pilgrimage route stretching 800 kilometers across France and Spain. Before she leaves, Jane consults with a psychic, who warns of cat fights, lost jewellery, encounters with celebrities, a visit from death, and a fair-haired man. After less than a week of travel with a mob of squabbling middle-aged women, some of whom have already started taking cabs, Christmas sets out on her own. That is when her real adventure begins.

I just finished reading this book (What the psychic told the pilgrim). I devoured the book in about 5 days. I must say it was a page turner for me who walked some sections of the camino. The story of Jane is funny . I LOL (ed) a few times. I have read a few books on the same topic. Each stories are different but this one is special.

I have read every book there is on walking the Camino and I must say this book is the very best by far! Most enjoyable read, funny, down to earth tells it like it is holding nothing back.

Having walked a small portion of the Camino this past March 2016 with a friend, I thoroughly enjoyed reliving the experience by reading this book. I found the author authentic in her thoughts and feelings and would recommend this book. I love that the author is a Canadian!

I have been thinking about walking part of the Camino and somehow got this book. I found the title compelling, the book itself most enjoyable to read. I'm planning on reading her other books. Bonus that she comes/came from a Canadian perspective.

Very entertaining read. Kept my interest level up. Would be interested in doing a pilgrimage, but know the refugios are not for me.

I found it rather tedious.

Love her writing!!

This book, as well as being funny in spots, was reflective also.

Would recommend it highly.
