Simon and Schuster
The Big-Ass Book of Crafts is packed with ideas for sprucing up your living space; concocting fabulous, all-natural body products; designing your own unique stationery; and creating countless other crafts that will convince your friends and loved ones that you're the secret love child of Martha Stewart (only much, much cooler).

Forget crocheted doilies and itchy knit sweaters--TLC's While You Were Out top designer Mark Montano has created stylish and imaginative projects that range from a Warhol-esque Ultrasuede iPod case to photo-adorned boxer shorts to African mask patio chairs to wooden night-light boxes. Divided into sections that include Outdoorsy (ideas to enhance your backyard), Dishing It Out (decorating plates using different techniques), You've Been Framed (innovative picture framing ideas), and Can I Have a Light? (creating and decorating lamps, lanterns, and chandeliers), it's as entertaining to read as it is endlessly inspiring.

With more than one hundred and fifty inventive and fun projects, The Big-Ass Book of Crafts is the perfect activity book for readers of every mood, budget, and skill level.

What is this guy's obsession with baby dolls and lady/bird statues. This is just a case of "glue this crap to that crap and call it art" - pathetic.

Apparently you can judge a book by its cover. Tacky and cheap-looking, with a vulgar title, what you see is what you get with this book - tacky, cheap-looking, "craft" projects that in many cases are either poorly executed or badly photographed, or both. There were maybe a couple of things in this book that I would consider making, but I am sure I can find even better versions of them in better books.

When I was looking through this book I found myself wondering how garbage like this actually made it to print. The only reason I can think of is that the author must be well connected.

More fun than Martha Stewart! (I love ya Martha! But some of Martha's crafts seem designed for ladies who lunch.) I like that the projects seem a little bit messy and you can find most of the supplies at local hardware/fabric stores.

The title and cover should of given you a hint this wasn't your mother's craft book. There is a lot of cute things for someone who has eclectic taste. Projects seemed easy, colourful and quirky. The Big Ass Book of Crafts would be a great gift for any teenager who's into DIY and crafting.

This book is AMAZING! Me and my friends are attempting nearly every project in this book! My first library renewal..Then, my mother is placing a hold at a different library branch. Yay!

I'm usually never impressed with craft books like I was this one.

This book had crafts that are pure crap. One of the crafts was a bead curtain, but instead of being the usual tacky ensemble put together with beads, it was made with THOUSANDS of zip ties. There was not a SINGLE item I would make.

OPL, please never buy another one of Mark Montano's publications.
